D-WADE FLIES IN VANCOUVER

7.19.05 ? VANCOUVER ? What kind of Freestyle Superstar are you? A Scorer? A Defensive Stopper? A Playmaker?

In real life, Miami Heat star Dwyane Wade can do all those things and more. In NBA LIVE 06, however, the game's top players are Freestyle Superstars, and each has a specialty. Ask Wade what kind of Freestyle Superstar he is, and he doesn't hesitate.

"A High-Flyer," he says happily after previewing his Freestyle Superstar skills in an advance copy of NBA LIVE 06. "I get to dunk on people and take off from anywhere, and do all kind of dunks. I'm excited about that, and I don't want them to change anything. I want to be a High-Flyer because I can get two anytime."

Wade recently visited the EA SPORTS studios in Vancouver, British Columbia, where he spent the better part of a day doing motion-capture work for the NBA LIVE team (and we'll have full coverage of Dwyane's big day here at EASPORTS.com in the coming weeks). Still, he got a few minutes away from his obligations so he could sit down with the new LIVE -- and he came away enthused.

"It's excellent," he said of the new game. "I think this separates this game from any other game ? it makes the superstars into what they really are, the stars of their teams. It gives them different things to do than other players. It kind of separates them. That's how it is in real life. Guys like Shaq, he separates from everybody in the NBA. This game is kind of doing that."

Meanwhile, he seems very satisfied with his Freestyle Superstar status as a High-Flyer ? at least from a video game perspective. Like we said, Dwyane can seemingly do it all in real life, but put him on the virtual court, and he loves the big air of the High-Flyer.

"On the video game, that's something that I would want to be because video games are supposed to be exciting, and dunking is exciting," he said. "Everybody wants to dunk on somebody. That's why I want to be a High-Flyer in the game, and that's what I am."

Check back in the coming weeks for a closer look at Dwyane's day in Vancouver, the motion-capture technology in NBA LIVE, and much more!
